Dawson-- City leaders will find out the results of an investigation into their police department Wednesday night.

The investigation was sparked over public outcry in the April arrest of a Dawson man. The police officer involved broke down a door and maced a 24-year-old man he was trying to arrest. That officer has been fired.

The results of the investigation will be used to prevent similar incidents. City Attorney Tommy Coleman says, "I guess we will have to wait and see the results. The point is they have to operate this police department under the law and following certain rules and procedures."

The report is also expected to address the recent attempt by Dawson Mayor Robert Albritten to intervene in the serving of a bench warrant.

According to police reports, Albritten asked the assistant police chief to wait a day before arresting a friend of his so he could get bail money.
