Adel - A South Georgia church is lending a hand to a local homeless shelter.

Members of Adel's First Baptist Church donated the supplies and labor for new vinyl siding on the House of Help and Hope. The shelter houses 12 women and five children.

Each summer, the church goes on mission trips around the world. But this year, they wanted to help a local charity.

"We really appreciate what this shelter does for people in our community, so we wanted to help make the house look better," said Bob Walker, Pastor. "It's a very worthy cause."

Last year, the church built a wheelchair ramp for the house.
