Albany, Ga.--Despite trailing the tourney hosts heading into the final day of play, Stonebridge Golf Club came from behind Sunday to take their fourth Challenge Cup victory in six years.
Head Pro Rob Allen accounted for nine of his team's 72 points on the final day and afterwards was estatic about reclaiming the Cup.
"I don't know everybody's enthusiastic about it and everybody's really pumped up to do well," Allen said. "That's right, our pro Rob Allen, he takes a lot of pride in the Buffalo Rock Cup and he put together I think there was twelve of us and he told us we needed to win it. And we did what we could and we came out ahead," Matt Johnson said.
The Challenge Cup will be played at Grand Island Golf Club next year. Tournament officials hope to add both Radium Springs and Flint River Golf Club to the tournament before then.
