July 19, 2003

Smithville- City officials and residents meet Saturday morning to discuss plans for the future of Smithville.

Some of the concerns included improvements to water and sewage services as well as providing more activities for children.

"I'd like to see the kids use the park because it's just sitting there. We need to do some development to it; all the kids should use it. We're in the process now of fixing up city hall. We're doing things its just slow," says Mayor Jerry Myrick.

County officials also discussed building a new volunteer fire station in Smithville over the next few years.
