Albany - Unemployment was up in Georgia during the month of June. The unemployment rate jumped to 5.4 %, up from 4.6 % in May.

Jeffery Damons lost his job in March and has been looking for work ever since. He says going without a job for so long is discouraging, but he believes he'll find something soon. "It's rough with the economy in the turmoil that it's in," says Damons. "I feel the effects of it now. I really didn't when I was working, but I really see what people go through who are looking for work."

The Department of labor in Albany says even though unemployment is up in Georgia, they haven't seen an increase in the amount of clients they serve.
