Albany - Georgia is cracking down on mailboxes that are hazards for drivers. People who live on state roads will no longer be allowed to have stone, concrete, brick or thick-posted mailboxes.
The larger mailboxes can be dangerous for drivers on busy state roadways and are therefore against the law. Residents have 30 days, after receiving the letter, to remove the mailboxes.
Wooden or metal post less than 4 inches are allowed.
