Albany- Gordy Volunteer Fire Department in Worth County and Rochelle Volunteer Fire department in Wilcox County are each recipients of 2003 Assistance to Firefighter Grants.

Gordy plans to open bids in the next couple weeks to purchase a new fire engine with its $171,000 grant.

Rochelle Fire Department has already spent its $106,650 grant on a new 2004 model pumper that will replace its 1972 model.
