Tonight in Albany, members of Doublegate Country Club threw head professional Ed Everett a surprise party for his 30 years of service with the club.
A member of the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame, Everett is one of the most revered professionals in the state. He is also one of only a handful of pros to stay with the same club for 30 years or longer. Despite his numerous accomplishments on the course, which includes four Georgia Senior Open titles, Everett says tonight's party will go down as one of his favorite memories.
"Oh, it's fantastic, you don't know what kid of ego builder this is, to have this many people come out and support you after you've been here 30 years. You make a lot of friends, but you really don't expect anything like this," Everett said.
Ed Everett was inducted into the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame in January of 2002.
