Albany -- Arson investigators say they believe an Albany teenager was trying to injure two sleeping women when she set their apartment on fire
19 year old Taisha Necole Wilson is charged with first degree arson. Investigators say a long standing argument was the reason she set the women's home ablaze. June 26th at 4 AM Albany fire trucks were called to this Nottingham North Apartment.
20 year old Sheena Scott and 19 year old Ki-Methia Wilkerson were awaken by a smoke alarm. The only door in the apartment was blocked by the fire. Firefighters had to rescue the two women through an upstairs window by ladder.
Investigators charge Wilson broke a window by the door, poured gasoline on a chair and set it on fire. Albany Assistant Fire Chief James Carswell said "Actually it was based on an ongoing conflict between Miss Wilson and one of the occupants of the apartment. It related to some personal possessions that one claimed the other had taken."
One of the women had to be treated at the fire for smoke inhalation. Wilson is charged with arson, but no assault charges have been filed. They are pending.
