Albany- A UGA student has been indicted for vehicular homicide in the death of a fraternity brother. 19 year old Travis Starr died of head injuries a week after falling from a truck driven by Brett Allen Steele April 17th in Athens.

State troopers say though it's not illegal, it is unsafe for anyone to ride in the back of a pick-up truck. Passengers over the age of 18 can ride in the back of a truck if they can do so safely.

Still troopers say the risk of injury is too great. "I've worked a few with individuals thrown out from the truck. Very rarely are they not injured at all if not killed. I don't think I've had any where anybody's been thrown out of a truck and walked away from the accident," says Trooper Scott McClure.

It is unlawful for passengers riding in truck beds to sit on top of utility boxes in the trucks.
