Albany- City workers began early Friday morning setting up for one of the biggest attractions, the fireworks show.

Organizers expect hundreds of families to come out for the annual event and say police will be out in full force to make sure everyone is safe.

"The professionals who will be responsible for shooting fireworks are the only ones who need to be in those areas. If they bring small kids, definitely keep their eyes on the kids, and make sure those kids don't stray into those areas where they don't need to be and just always remember safety first," says Sgt. Leonard Bell.

Bell reminds everyone that alcohol will not be permitted inside the fireworks show area. Coolers with soft drinks are allowed. If you bring backpacks they may be searched.
