Albany-- Lots of wet spring weather is costing Georgia's melon farmers some money.
It's been a bad year for Jimmy Chapman's cantaloupe crop. What he does have he's selling at the Cordele Farmer's Market for about fifty cents a piece.
But, he won't make as much on his cantaloupe this season, "It will be a couple hundred dollars an acre, but usually more than that on a real good year. But right now you can't tell because we've had such hard luck on the weather, its been wrong we've had cold nights, rainy nights."
Chapman planted about 20 acres of cantaloupe this year and will finish harvesting it sometime next week.
