Albany-- The search is still underway for a Dougherty County jail inmate who escaped over the weekend.

Twenty-five-year-old Matthew Jacobs pushed and then ran from a guard transporting him from Phoebe Putney Hospital Saturday morning at 6:00.

Jacobs was being held for probation violation and obstruction of an officer. Officer Tommy Goodwin of the Sheriff's Department suffered a twisted ankle chasing Jacobs.

If you have any information, call the Dougherty County Sheriff's office.
