Dukes of Hazard star performs in Albany

June 29, 2003

Albany - A Hazardous star performed in South Georgia Saturday.

Tom Wopat, best know as "Luke Duke" from the Dukes of Hazard, performed Saturday night at the Albany Municipal Auditorium. Wopat is a classically trained vocalist who now performs on Broadway in the musical "42nd Street".

Opening tonight for Wopat was Albany native Lynn Loosier. Loosier says it is always fun to perform for family and friends. "It is exciting to be with my family," says Loosier. "To be with my family is the most important thing to me, but to be amongst people I haven't seen in a long time, that's really exciting."

Wopat said, "It's amazing how popular this style of music is. It's a style that never looses its popularity, but right now especially.  I think it's making a real comeback."

Wopat and Loosier both currently live in New York City.
