Albany- The accident happened around one o'clock Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Oakridge and South Slappey.

A tanker flipped over when driver Steve Davis turned the corner too quickly. He was hauling 8,700 gallons of gasoline which started leaking from the tank. Another tanker was brought in, and all but 150 gallons of the gas was drained from the wrecked truck.

Roads surrounding the busy intersection were roped off and traffic detoured onto side streets while crews cleaned up the spill. Power was temporarily turned off and gas pumps shut down at a nearby gas station to stop a possible explosion.

No others cars were involved in the wreck. Davis was not seriously injured and will be charged with driving too fast for conditions.
