(New York-AP) -- Georgia Tech forward Chris Bosh was chosen by the Toronto Raptors tonight with the fourth pick of the NBA draft. Georgia's Jarvis Hayes was the tenth overall pick, going to the Washington Wizards.
The six-foot-eleven Bosh, the ACC's rookie of the year last season, is giving up the rest of his college career to turn pro. Hayes, a 6-7 swingman, gave up his senior year with the Bulldogs to enter the draft. The decision worked out well when he was chosen a bit higher than expected by draft analysts.
The Atlanta Hawks didn't get to choose until the 21st pick. They used it for guard Boris Diaw of France. The Hawks traded away their lottery pick, sending it to Milwaukee a year ago in the Glenn Robinson deal.
The Bucks used the pick to get T.J. Ford of Texas, winner of the Naismith and Wooden awards.
