Albany - With the deadline fast approaching, Albany city leaders can't agree on a budget. They're having to call a special meeting. The main sticking point is how much money the city will give to independent agencies such as the Ritz Cultural Center and the Albany Symphony. Trying to tighten the budget, the city staff cut funding for some of those organizations.

On Wednesday, several commissioners made motions to add funding for some of the agencies. Commissioners could not agree and none of those motions passed. No date for a special budget meeting was set, but commissioners must approve a new budget by June 30th.
