Lee County-- The man who attacked Daniel Wise had a history of mental illness, but had stopped taking his medicine.

33-year-old Jonathan Eric McCorkle is charged with aggravated assault for Friday's stabbing at the Lee County Winn-Dixie. It was a random act of violence--McCorkle did not know his victim. Investigators filed formal charges Saturday. Major Geoff Smith says, "Fortunately the doctor did say the victim would make a full recovery, with that good news able to go with the aggravated assault which also encompasses attempted murder and that such."

The 53-year-old Wise was stabbed in the side and the chest with a four inch serrated blade. Tonight, he's in good condition.
