Tifton--Georgia's Hope Scholarship program enters its tenth year. Since the scholarship program began, more than 1.5 billion dollars in Hope funds has been awarded to to more than 600,000 students.
Mike vollmer, now the president of Abraham Baldwin College, served as Georgia's first executive director of the Hope scholarship program. "Hope has had an impact certainly in keeping students in Georgia, there's is no doubt about it. It's the best deal possible so i think Hope has had a great great influence on Georgia students staying in the state of Georgia", says Vollmer.
Smaller colleges in Georgia are now crediting the Hope Scholarship Program for growth over the past decade.
