Decatur County - A missing Alzheimer's patient from Grady County is found dead near a burned SUV.

Seventy-six-year-old Gladys Cooper was reported missing three weeks ago. Cooper's body was found by a hunter on Idlegrass Plantation in Decatur County Sunday morning. The plantation is near the Grady County line on Highway 84 off Mcintyre Road.

Investigators say Cooper was lying on her back about 15 feet from her Ford Explorer. The explorer was burnt, but Cooper was not. Investigators say she was wearing the white ushers dress and jewelry that relatives said she was last wearing.

Cooper left her Whigham home on the Whigham-Attapulgus Road on June first to go to a church meeting.

Investigators are waiting on crime lab results to determine how and when she died. Relatives told deputies she was in the early stages of Alzheimer's.
