Albany--  In a symbolic gesture, Major General Bradley Lott passed the Marine flag to Major General Harold Mashburn, signifying the change of command.

General Mashburn says one thing that won't change is the base itself.

Mashburn says the base is not in jeopardy. "These are trying times because people are paranoid. We are fine. We are solvent believe me this base has a mission and its going to continue to perform as superbly as it has."

Mashburn pointed out that the Albany base is supporting many deployments right now. He says the Department of Defense is growing, and so will the base.
