Valdosta - Too much rain is causing big problems for motorists in one South Georgia town.
Since 8:00 this morning, Lowndes County has received almost two inches of rain. Part of Gornto Road near the YMCA has been temporarily shut down. Several inches of water is covering St. Augustine Road, Park Lane, Ashley Street, and West Hill Avenue.
One home on Jerry Jones is almost completely surrounded by water, all the way up to the doorsteps.
Police urge motorists to take alternate routes to avoid these areas.
