Albany - If the rising cost of college tuition has you worried, you're not alone. Parents and new students gathered for orientation today at Albany State University.
Mack and Valarie Jackson's son Michael will attend ASU this fall. Valarie says although tuition is increasing, they will make it a priority for their son to attend college. "As long as this is where my son wants to go," Valarie says, "we will make it happen for him."
Mack Jackson says if parents are worried about tuition increases, they should prepare now, so they can help their child go to college. Mack says, "Nobody wants costs to keep going up, but unfortunately that's part of life. So we have to prepare for our children and those are the sacrifices we make for our children."
For now, the Jackson's just want their son to have the full college experience of fun and friends.
Parents and students concerned about how they will pay for college can get help at their school's financial aid office.
