Decatur County - A South Georgia man leads authorities on a high speed chase after allegedly kidnapping and raping a woman. 35 year-old Joseph Baker, of Attapulgus, was arrested on Sunday in Gadsden County, Florida after leading Decatur County Sheriff Officers on a chase across the state line.
Baker is accused of carjacking and kidnapping a woman in Attapulgus. Officers say he drove her to Gadsden County and raped her. She got away and found help at a nearby house. Police spotted the stolen car and tried to pull Baker over. A chase ensued and ended several miles away when Baker crashed the car.
Baker is now charged with carjacking, battery, kidnapping, and sexual assault. He is being held at the Gadsden County Jail.
