Valdosta - The American Red Cross is in desperate need of mass care volunteers. Valdosta's Red Cross chapter hopes it found that help at Volunteer Recruitment Day.

People interested in helping with disaster relief programs are toured the brand new facility, met the Red Cross board members, and learned about their services.

"We're looking for anyone who can give their time and isn't afraid to go into a traumatic situation to help others, such as an accident site, flood zone, or fire scene," said Penelope White.

Valdosta's Red Cross chapter services five counties. Those are Brooks, Clinch, Echols, Lanier, and Lowndes.
