Thomasville - A southwest Georgia police department gets a thumbs up from a national assessment team.

This week, Thomasville Police have been trying to earn re-accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies. Inspectors finished their work Wednesday saying the department has good community relations and crime scene programs, but needs to improve record keeping.

The department will get final word in November.

They have been accredited since 1987. Most police departments don't have that recognition.
