ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  After dropping their first SIAC match last week at Clark Atlanta, Albany State volleyball coach Robert Skinner wanted his team to step up during the SIAC crossover tournament this weekend.

The Lady Rams did that in dropping just one game in winning three matches on Thursday.

Albany State started their day by beating Tuskegee 3-0.

Lady Rams won 25-16, 25-19, 25-9 with Sabrina Garcia leading the way with 14 kills and Priscilla Sena had 26 assists.

Lewis had 8 kills in a 3-0 win over Miles Thursday afternoon and Adrienne Morris had 14 digs on defense.

The line score for the Miles match was 25-12, 25-14, 25-13.

The final match of the day was tough as expected.

Lady Rams dropped the third game to Stillman but ASU won the match 3-1.

Latrice Lewis and Sabrina Garcia combined for 27 kills and Sena had 32 assists.

Albany State is 4-2 on the season and back in action at 12:00 p.m. Friday against Lane followed by a 6:00 p.m. match against LeMoyne-Owen.

Lady Rams close out the crossover Saturday afternoon with the always anticipated match with Kentucky State.
