Albany - The city attorney is one step closer to leaving his job with the city of Albany. Al Grieshaber is now one of four finalists for a city manager's position of Sanford, Florida.

About 90 people applied for the job. Over-the-phone interviews narrowed the search to four last week. The mayor and a city commissioner of Sanford will meet with Grieshaber in Albany this week. Next, Grieshaber will go to Sanford for a four day interview process. Grieshaber, the city attorney since 1992, is the only one of the four finalists who has not been a city manager.

A decision about the position should be made by the end of the month.
