Albany -- An Albany man confesses to killing a man on Mother's Day, seriously wounding another man. Thomas Dion Span was arrested Tuesday morning in Mitchell County for DUI and selling marijuana. But Mitchell County authorities quickly turned him over to Albany Police, who had a murder warrant on him.

Thomas Span is charged with the shooting two men May 11th. Eric Ingram and Kevin Pollock were shot in the back of the head with a 9 millimeter pistol in a car on Lockett Station Road. Police say Span was riding in the back seat of the car when he opened fire. Witnesses saw him jump from the car and run.

Lt. James Williams of the Albany Police said "Mr. Span his indication that there was an argument about a money deal. They had a conversation in the vehicle, which led to the argument, which led to the shooting of both victims."

Eric Ingram died at the scene. Pollock is recovering from his wounds. Thomas Span is charged with murder and aggravated assault.
