ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A burglar went through a lot of trouble and ended up in jail Tuesday morning just to steal a refrigerator.
Around 2 A.M. Albany police say 42-year-old Rodney Gainer shattered a back window at 302 South Davis apartment J, broke in, and tried getting away with an old refrigerator. The building is vacant and a neighbor told us Gainer knew there was only a refrigerator inside because he helped move the family out last week.
Someone spotted Gainer breaking in and called police. They caught him in the act and put him in handcuffs. He's charged with burglary and is now in the Dougherty county jail.
