Albany man jailed for throwing rock from bridge onto car

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –A 20 year old Turner Job Corps student is arrested for dropping a rock off an overpass, hitting an SUV's windshield.

Travis Wynn is charged with terroristic threats and acts. Police say Saturday afternoon about 3:30 he dropped a rock off the Nottingham Bridge and hit a Chevrolet Tahoe driving underneath on the Liberty Expressway. The rock shattered the SUV's windshield. The driver, Paula Norman, and passenger Gary Phillips, were not hurt.

Albany Police say this act was no joke.  Albany Police Media Manager Phyllis Banks said "We're taking it very seriously. Using a rock to unsuspectingly strike a vehicle is a very dangerous thing for someone to be doing. Fortunately only the car sustained damage, but it could have led to something even worse."

Travis Wynn is still being held  Monday night in the Dougherty County jail.
