Albany leaders erasing racism

June 9, 2003

Albany-- The Leadership Albany class wants Albany leaders to erase racism. County commissioners signed off on the "Eracism" pledge, vowing to eliminate racial prejudice. This year's Leadership Albany class is asking all County and City leaders to take a public stance against racism. They call the project "Eracism."

Leadership Albany classmate, Kenneth Cutts, says "On the pencil we have an eraser, when you want to erase a mistake you use that eraser, so that's where the term Eracism comes from, we want to erase racism in Albany-Dougherty County."

The pledge will be presented to the Dougherty County School Board at Monday night's meeting.
