Slowly but surely visitation has been climbing at least count they've had 492,000 people visit.

In October they're expected to welcome their 500,000th visitor.

The Riverquarium is being more assertive with promotions and activities to increase membership and visitation. Sunday was their first Grandparents Day promotion.

"Grandparents get in free with a paid grandchild and in the gift shop if they decide to purchase anything it's 20 percent off," said Sherrell Lamar, RiverQuarium.

Of the $1.4 million budget eight percent or $110,000 come from annual memberships. The Albany attraction is six years old.
