In high school football the 2-0 Monroe Tornadoes took the field against the Albany Indians at Hugh Mills stadium on Saturday evening.
The Indians found success on their first drive as Emanuel Byrd hooked up with Jeconiah Jackson over the middle for a gain of 52 yards. A few plays later, Byrd lofted one over the Tornado defense to Rantiez Williams who made a leaping catch to put Albany up 7-0.
However, on the next possession Monroe's David Noel threw a strike to a crossing Johntavius Strum who out ran the Albany secondary to the end zone to tie the game at 7-7.
The game was called due to weather late in the third with Monroe on top 28-13.
