ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Krista McPherson and Regina Thomas are students at LaGrange College. As part of a servant project, their class is collecting hygiene projects for families in need.
It's a collaboration with Strive 2 Thrive, a movement to eradicate poverty in Albany.
LaGrange Student Regina Thomas said, "I think it is a very big plus for our community that everybody in the community become aware of the poverty that is currently here in Dougherty County and work towards trying to eradicate that."
LaGrange Student Krista McPherson said, "The items that we're asking to be donated are necessities that we probably take for granted. The toothpaste, toilet tissue, those kind of things that we really don't think about missing from our own homes."
You can donate to the cause on Saturday, September 25th from nine AM to one PM at the Winn-Dixie on Old Dawson Road.
