THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WALB) –A Thomas County volunteer organization is looking for some helping hands for the county's largest day of community service.

The 7th Annual Hands on Thomas County Day is slated for next month and will include numerous service projects that will include renovating public places, helping the less fortunate, and enhancing the community.

Organizers say they need volunteers to sign up early to make sure all the projects get done.

"It's really a great way to get to know members of your community and to get yourself out there," says HOTC volunteer and Thomasville High School senior Bonnie Gaupp. "You feel good after it. You know you've worked hard, it's physical work and it's mental work and it's just exhilarating."

This year's Hands on Thomas County Day will be held October 23rd.

If you'd like to volunteer, you can call the Hands on Thomas County Office at (229) 226-5200.
