ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Georgia's top two gubernatorial candidates will face off in a debate in Albany next month.

Democrat Roy Barnes and Republican Nathan Deal accepted an invitation to debate from Raycom Media.

The debate will originate from WALB-TV in Albany and will be broadcast across Georgia on Raycom Media stations. It will also be live-streamed on walb.com.

The debate is scheduled for October 19th at 7:00 pm.

Both campaigns were inundated with requests to participate in debates.

The two sides met Thursday and agreed to accept the Raycom Media invitation.
