ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An Albany pregnancy center is offering free ultrasounds to any pregnant woman, beginning later this month. Alpha Ministries on Whispering Pines Road counsels women who may be pregnant about the options that are available to them.
Soon, the center will open a medical clinic and will perform free ultrasounds on women six to 28 weeks pregnant. The center wants women to see the baby they are carrying before they make a decision about keeping the child, adoption, or abortion.
"We really want them to see that there is a life and that there is a choice to make. A lot of times, Media tells you that abortion is the only option and that's not true and we care about women, in general. A lot of times an abortion can leave a woman with a lot of psychological problems post abortion, because a lot of times it's not the choice that they want to make, it's the choice that family and friends want them to make," said RN Nurse Manager Abby Dampier.
All you have to do to get an ultrasound is call and sign up. There is no charge. That number is 431-2343.
You can also stop by Alpha Ministries Monday though Thursday between 9:30 am and noon to talk to someone about the options available to you during and after your pregnancy.
