ALBANY, GA (WALB) –Albany Police say two boys, about 15-years old, robbed a South Albany woman at gunpoint in a home invasion late last night.

Police urge you to lock your doors and protect yourself.

The robbers had a shotgun and shirts tied over their faces when they burst into Palanthia Bell's home on South Cleveland Street.  The back door was unlocked.

The gunmen told Bell and her son to remain still while they stole cash and left.

Now Police are warning you to keep your doors locked and to refuse to open them for anybody you don't know.

Albany Police Detective Charlie Roberts said  "You know someone is there and suspect that it is someone you are not familiar with, give voice commands through your door. Contact law enforcement before you open your door. Contact your neighbor, contact a friend."

Albany Police said they support your right to use a gun to protect your life and your home, but they urge you to learn Georgia law about gun ownership and self defense.
