Natural gas leak stopped - WALB.com, Albany News, Weather, Sports

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  Natural gas leaking from an underground pipe has been shut off by pipeline experts.

Southern Natural Gas line workers were performing maintenance work Wednesday afternoon.  As they began covering the line back up, they apparently hit it with a piece of equipment, creating a leak.

As of 6:00 PM, the leak has been stopped and workers were welding up the line. 

They are bringing in an x-ray machine to check the repair before they repressurize the line to make sure it is adequate.
