Albany - Some Albany kids are hot over the temporary closure of their favorite place to cool off - the Carver Community Pool. The Carver Community Center added a water spray park this spring. Construction of the park has delayed the opening of the pool.

Parks and Recreation officials hope to open the pool and the spray park no later than July 12th. But, the closure is leaving eager kids high and dry. "I love to swim," said Sharoski Griffin. "July 12th is too late to open the pool, because we have to go back to school at the beginning of August."

Officials say the new spray park will make the wait for the pool worth while. It will have water dump buckets, crazy sprinklers, and water towers.
