Camilla,  GA (WALB) – A woman on her way to work this morning collided with a Mitchell County deputy's cruiser.

State Troopers say Jennifer Brown was driving a blue Chevrolet Malibu south on U.S. 19 around 7:15AM while deputy Randy Johnson was traveling north on 19.

When she went to turn into work at the Equity Group, she failed to yield and pulled out front of deputy Johnson.

The deputy suffered only minor scrapes from the crash. Brown was sent to the hospital for an evaluation and released shortly after.

People at the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office say they were relieved when they found out everyone was OK.

"The Sheriff's office in Mitchell County is like any family. Everybody in there feels like they're related to each other. So it's be like if your child got into an accident. We want to go out and make sure they're OK," said Kevin Sellers of the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office.

Brown is charged with failure to yield when making a left turn. Deputy Johnson went back to work as normal once everything was cleaned up.
