ROCHELLE, GA (WALB) - Wilcox County quarterback Nick Marshall can not only win games and state titles for the Patriots throwing touchdown passes.Marshall is the first member of our WALB Top Ten this season.

The all-state quarterback has committed to play defensive back at Georgia.

Marshall is also one of the top basketball recruits in the nation and will play basketball for the Bulldogs.

Wilcox County head coach Mark Ledford says Marshall would be a high draft pick in baseball if he played the sport.

Marshall says football is the sport he loves best and he knows the Patriots face a tough battle in defending their state championship this season.

Nick Marshall said. "Everyone is gunning after the state champions. We have to take it one game at a time. Try to get back to the top."

Mark Ledford said. "Friday night he bails us out in a one touchdown game and returns an interception 96 yards. It is tough for us to have to play him both ways. Sometimes it hurts him playing offense by playing defense."

Wilcox County takes a 1-0 record to Bleckley County this Friday night.

He also wins games with intercepting opponent passes.
