BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) -

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) –  Ever wish you could be in a movie? Now's your chance.

"Fishers of Men," a Hollywood production is holding a casting call for background extras Monday and Tuesday night in Bainbridge.

The crew is hoping to find folks to help make the film set in the 1950s as authentic as possible.

Members of the Desertwind Films staff say finding a location for their newest movie "Fishers of Men" was pretty easy.

"You're forever looking for locations in film, especially for period pieces. We're looking for a 1950's town and found it in Bainbridge. So much hasn't changed since then which I think is great historically. It fit our movie and the story perfectly," said Executive Producer John Duncan.

"We've never had anything like this around here so it's just wonderful,"  said casting hopeful Shirley Price.

Now, the production crew is searching for extras. But they do have some warnings for people looking to get famous fast.

"It's not always what it's cracked up to be," said CEO/Director Josh Mills. "Sometimes it's pretty grueling. You're there for 6-8 hours and if you're in a scene for 5-10 minutes but have to go to the restroom or go home, we shoot and edit that scene and it's like what happened to the guy in the brown shirt that was standing right there and now he's gone. So it matters."

"It's difficult sometimes. Like I'm looking for extras in background and some of them get very excited about being on film and look right at the camera," said Duncan.

And the crew wants to make sure the movie stays authentic, from props and set design, all the way to the people in the background.  "You can't have some crazy haircut,"  said Mills.

But casting hopefuls are excited to show off their talents.  "I love to act and act in church and school plays and just enjoy it,"  said Price.

"I took a class at Bainbridge college, video and stage technology. We all have to start from some place. The best place to start is the bottom so we know what to do when you rise to the top,"  said Teena Holmes-McCray, another casting hopeful.

Casting sessions are being held Monday night at the Charter House Inn until 9:00. They'll pick back up Tuesday from 5:00 until 9:00 PM.

Fishers of Men is scheduled for release in theaters in early January.
