The San Francisco Giants drafted former Lee County high pitcher Kellen Ludwig for the second year in a row.
Ludwig, who was an 11th round pick of the Giants last year, was taken in the 9th round this year and the right hander says he will turn down a scholarship with the University of Miami to sign with the Giants.
Kellen Ludwig was a late draft choice of the Toronto Blue Jays two years ago but instead went to Chipola Junior College in Marianna, Florida where this year he was 4-0 with four saves.
Darton pitcher Nick Green went two rounds later to the Houston Astros.
Green, who played high school baseball at Tift County, was 3-6 wiht 3.75 earned run average in his freshman season with the Cavaliers but was fourth in the state junior college rankings with
69 strikeouts in 69 innings.
