 New York-- The St. Louis Cardinals took Georgia Southern pitcher Dennis Dove in the third round with the 95th overall pick.

 A former standout at Irwin County High school, Dennis Dove had 22 and 9 career record for the Eagles and was the first of three Georgia Southern pitchers drafted in the first 11 rounds.

 Dove's 11.3 strikeouts per game was 16th best in the nation at the D-I level in his junior season where the right-hander posted a 7-2 record.
