LOWNDES COUNTY, GA (WALB) –Investigators dropped an armed robbery charge against a man they first thought was involved in a Lowndes County home invasion, but he remains in jail.

Demetrius Parson surrendered Tuesday evening when he learned investigators were looking for him.

After questioning him, Lowndes County authorities believe he wasn't involved.

Four other suspects remain in jail after a home invasion early Tuesday morning during which a man was hit in the head with a gun and robbed.

Parson is being held in the lowndes county jail on Brooks County burglary charges and a bench warrant from Valdosta Police.
