Lee County-- Members of the Lee County High School Theater Program will be packing their kilts for a trip to the world-reknowned Edinburgh Festival next summer.
Professional quality performances led to the invitation to perform in Scotland in August 2004. Theatre director Robby Davis says the students were stunned when they found out they won an invitation, "When it sank in that we were going to do this, the students were elated and the parents were too. They really understand how special this invitation is and this opportunity is."
Hundreds of high schools across the nation applied--but only thirty theater programs were chosen. Lee County High School is believed to be the only South Georgia high school to earn this distinction.
