OCILLA, GA (WALB) –An armed robber is on the loose after robbing a clerk at gunpoint at the Flash Foods in Ocilla.

Detectives say the man, who they believe is Larry Joe Marcell, Junior held up two people inside the store at gunpoint and then turned the gun on the clerk demanding money.

He took off in a green Lexus with a Kentucky tag and a dent in the front corner panel early Sunday morning.

Investigators got information from the suspect's girlfriend that he had been bragging about doing a job.

She said he left the house with a shotgun and returned later with close to $500.00 dollars.

He fled when he found out authorities were looking for him.

Investigators say Marcell stopped in the store a few minutes before the robbery when he ran out of gas.

"They had done the good Samaritan thing and gave him some gas, but he was just very suspicious to them and then 15 minutes after they alerted us was the armed robbery," said Detective Doug Douglas with the Ocilla Police Department.

Authorities say Marcell, has two prior convictions for armed robbery in the state of Kentucky and was on parole when he robbed the Ocilla store.

A $500.00 dollar reward is offered for his arrest.
