South Georgia players highlight NGA Hooters Tour Field in Hawkinsville

HAWKINSVILLE, GA (WALB) - Many of the best players on the PGA started their professional golf careers on the NGA Hooters Tour.©2010 WALB News. All rights reserved.   Feedback

The tour is back in Hawkinsville for the ComSouth Classic at the Southern Hills Country Club.

 

The field includes a number of players with ties to south Georgia including former Valdosta State players Brent Witcher (Darton), Chris Erwin and Nate Balanis and former Alabama All-American Mark Harrell from Hazelhurst.

These players would all love to follow the road that players like Zach Johnson, David Toms and Vaughn Taylor to the PGA tour.

Mark Harrell said. "There is only 180 to 200 guys on tour. There are a lot of good players on tour. You have got to keep working hard and know that your chance is going to happen and take advantage of it."

The ComSouth Classic starts Thursday in Hawkinsville.
